Primary Purpose of Department:
The SoA offers four degree programs: Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (B.A. in Arch.), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.), Master of Architecture (M.Arch. I, II) and Master of Urban Design (MUD), as well as dual-degree programs in Architecture + Urban Design and Architecture + Computer Science. Primary Purpose of Position:
The Student Academic Advisor is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment in the Department of Architecture in the College of Arts + Architecture (CoA+A), UNC-Charlotte. The Academic Advisor is responsible for providing a range of services to prospective and admitted students that includes academic advising, advising-related teaching/training, and coordination of a department-wide system for advising methods and procedures.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Masters Degree (preferably in higher education, counseling and/or student personnel, or related field). Professional academic advising-related experience in a University or College setting is preferred.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential qualifications and background also include strong (oral and written) communication skills and successful meeting/facilitation capabilities. Technical skills required include: demonstrated ability using BANNER System to access and update full student records and Google Workspace. Familiarity with advising and/or assessment software is desirable.
