The person in this role may directly supervise the work of professional staff (research assistants or aides) and students supporting research project goals. The ideal candidate will have project specialist or coordinator experience, have experience as an interventionist for young children with individualized intensive support needs, be highly reliable in a fast-paced office, pay close attention to detail, be adept at problem-solving, and have a degree in education (including special education), psychology, health and social sciences, disability studies, or related area.

Job DescriptionThe project coordinator will work directly with KUCDD Investigator and Project MounTaiN Director, Maria Hugh, and affiliated faculty. The coordinator will collaborate with others, including colleagues with disabilities, undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and staff. These collaboration efforts will transverse the Project Director and project faculty’s affiliations both with KUCDD and their appointments in the Department of Special Education. The research coordinator will also liaise with study participants including children, youth, and adults with identified support needs (including those with disabilities), and their families and service providers. The person in this role will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
30% – Coordinate development of training project development to meet project goals and deadlines. Organize project activities such as: recruiting/managing students, tracking project activities and timelines, organizing seminars, and planning and coordinating fieldwork. Communicate regular project updates and organize inventory and ordering of necessary supplies. Assist in developing project reports through writing, proofreading and document lay-out. Communicate with funders and coordinate with national experts to organize presentations and knowledge-sharing.
30% – Coordinate development of study protocols to meet project goals and deadlines. Organize study activities such as: recruiting/managing participants, tracking study activities and timelines, assisting with data collection, and monitoring data collection activities (e.g., ensure timely provision of participant incentive processing as required). Communicate regular project updates and organize inventory and ordering of necessary supplies. Assist in the development of project reports through writing, proofreading and document lay-out. Communicate with funders and coordinate with national experts to organize presentations and knowledge-sharing.
15% – Data management tasks, editing video/audio clips for study participants and the public, and performing clerical tasks as assigned.
15% – Qualitative and Quantitative Data collection.
10% – Liase and coordinate with community EI/ECSE providers and to identify fieldwork sites and recruit students.Required Qualifications
