Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this Farm Worker/Research Technician position are to assist the Farm Manager and inmate labor crew with day to day operations at the Center which include conducting research trials, farm and facility maintenance, and other meetings at the farm. The Center utilizes inmate labor from Rogers State Prison, and this position will work closely with a corrections officer and inmate crew to carry out farm duties. Day to day tasks on the farm include but are not limited to: planting, harvesting, tillage operations, application of pesticides, and farm maintenance. The Farm Worker will apply pesticides, and will obtain a Georgia Private Applicators License.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
A working knowledge/experience with operating farm equipment such as tractors, planters, sprayers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
Physical Demands:
Heavy lifting, working outdoors in extreme climate. Driving as needed to perform job related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Under direction of Farm Manager, oversee and assist corrections officer and inmate labor crew with day to day farm tasks. This will include but not be limited to harvesting, planting, pest management, weeding, equipment maintenance, mowing, and caring for research plots.
