Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assigning vehicles to fixed routes, demand response, charters and other transit related operational services based on maintenance constraints, fleet availability and service needs. This position ensures that transit operational staff reports to work in accordance with standard operating procedure to carry out task deemed necessary to support day-to-day operations. Routinely, this position will work to fill open shifts daily as interruptions in services may occur. This position is responsible for reporting customer service related issues to management and assisting transit passengers with service related inquiries. Utilizing Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), this position works in coordination with Transit Supervisors, Maintenance Crew, and if applicable, Electronics and IT Operations to report and resolve issues that may obstruct daily operations or the ability to provide accurate data for National Transit Database (NTD) reporting. Lastly, this position may need to provide back-up support at the Bus Operator capacity. Applicants will submit to drug and alcohol testing as required by the US Department of Transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
Possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
Strong Organizational, Verbal/Non- Verbal Communications, and Customer Service Skills.
Emphasis on attention to details and the ability to multi-task utilizing critical and strategic thinking to support daily operations.
Safe driving record.
Physical Demands:
Sitting for long periods of time, pushing, pulling and reaching. Working in adverse climates and standing for long periods of time on occasion.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Monitor Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system for fixed route schedule and headway adherence. Communicate utilizing multiple apparatuses: two-way radio, phone/text, email, etc. to deliver and obtain route assistance to staff and passengers.
