Position Summary:
The Programming Coordinator joins a small but strong office of dedicated professionals committed to internationalizing the student experience at the University of Georgia. Reporting to the Director, the Programming Coordinator for the Department of International Student Life will have the opportunity to oversee a number of ISL programs, including but not limited to student leadership development, the Global Buddies Program, the International Coffee Hour series, and the International Street Festival. Additionally, the Programming Coordinator will have the opportunity to assist the Director with other programs and services provided by the department. The Programming Coordinator responsibilities may include occasional work after regular business hours and on weekends within a flex schedule arrangement.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Programming & Outreach Efforts:
Oversee, develop, and assess International Coffee Hour weekly programmatic efforts in conjunction with Graduate Assistant. Support International Education Month programmatic initiatives and provide staff support as directed by departmental leadership. Provide support for International Student Orientation (Fall and Spring). Manage the Global Buddies Program including marketing/recruiting, participant matching, and event planning. Develop and implement intercultural education programming, including the Global Dawgs series, to better prepare students for a global community at and beyond UGA. Coordinate the annual international Street Festival, including performance and participant recruitment, marketing, advertising, logistics, vendor relations, and volunteer management. Recruit, select, and advise the International Street Festival Student Planning Committee.

Student Organization Advising, Leadership Development, Training, & Management:
Advise a collection of intercultural/international student organizations by assisting with event management, organizational leadership development, and risk management. Advise, oversee, and manage Cultural Night programming hosted by various organizations advised by Programming Coordinator. Oversee, with support of Graduate Assistant, leadership development experiences focused on developing essential skills for all ISL organizations. Plan and coordinate bi-annual leadership development retreats for all ISL organizations in collaboration with other campus departments. Create and maintain resources for ISL organizations to assist with their development and success.

International Student Transition & Support Efforts / Intercultural Development:
Provide support, assistance, and staffing with fall and spring international student orientation programs as determined by departmental leadership. Assist with World Leader (orientation leader) recruitment, selection, and training. Support international students through one-on-one or small group advising as needed. Be willing and able to assist other UGA departments or entities with best practices of working with international student populations. Assist with the Language Labs program to provide international students English-language practice.

Administrative Duties:
Be responsible for basic administrative tasks associated with assigned programs and organizations, including budgetary management and compliance, marketing, assessment and evaluation. Be cognizant that policy is being followed and maintaining fiscal responsibility. Follow UGA and UGA Student Affairs policies and communicate them to organizations/students as appropriate. Represent ISL on various Divisional and University committees as determined by department leadership. Facilitation, publications, and assessment in coordination with the Director. Attend UGA Student Affairs meetings and professional development opportunities as requested. Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as assigned by department leadership.
