Experience with space planning and management, design and construction of facilities at a higher education institution.
Position Summary:
Individual performs project oversight leading to project success for the Office of University Architects and the Office of Space Planning and Management. This oversight includes comprehensive responsibility for all stages of the project from project programming to project close out. Projects may include alteration and repair projects to existing university buildings or new building construction projects. Supports other Project Managers, Interior Designers, Architects, and Director of Space Planning and Management on interior design and space management activities. Produce planning drawings for layouts and test move scenarios for Space Planning and Management based on research and information for building, room management, facility programming and/or space planning. Provide interior design and space management concepts for minor studies and proposed renovations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
-Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulatory agency guidelines as well as construction methods and construction administration.
-Ability to communicate and effectively establish and maintain working relationships with university faculty and administrative personnel.
-Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and results oriented.
-Basic knowledge of ADA code and sustainability in design and construction principles.
-Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup or other similar modeling software, and MS Office applications.
-Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze programmatic space/utilization data.
-Project management including management of design professionals and contractors.
Physical Demands:
-Sedentary desk work for computer related and administrative tasks.
-Regular on-site inspections with walking through active construction sites.
-Travel to active construction sites which may involve some overnight stays.
-Lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Provides direct support and oversight on logistical planning for moves and relocations, with particular emphasis on moves associated with capital projects. Communicates professionally (both oral and written) with university administrators, campus partners/stakeholders, contractors, vendors and others, as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists OUA PMs and OSPM staff with furniture selection, layouts installation, moves/relocations. Assistance may include submitting requisitions to purchase furniture, goods or equipment, creating an inventory of existing furniture, scheduling relocation of furniture, documentation relocation of occupants, coordinating relocations with multiple parties, implementing relocations, producing layout drawings, etc. Schedules meetings with vendors and manufactures as needed. Works closely with vendors to determine the best solutions meet the needs of the university and project stakeholders within the allocated budget.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides direction to the design professional and the contractor related to all facets of the project. Visits construction sites for OAC meeting as well as for overall project management. Prepares contracts and gathers/prepares other information regarding program, design, final construction documents, equipment lists and construction administration for a number of projects which are at various stages of development.
