Duties/Responsibilities:
Necropsy duty in conjunction with the AAVLD-accredited Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, surgical biopsy service to the teaching hospital and out-of-state veterinary practices, a large Zoo and Avian Exotic Animal Pathology Service, and service through the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center.

Position Summary:
Residency training includes extensive necropsy experience in conjunction with the AAVLD-accredited Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, surgical biopsy service to the teaching hospital and out-of-state veterinary practices, a large Zoo and Avian Exotic Animal Pathology Service, and service through the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center. Case-based learning is supplemented with several courses in histopathology, cellular pathology, and specialty areas (e.g., avian pathology). Teaching in the professional curriculum, participation in seminars, presentations at national meetings, and manuscript publication are also expected of the resident.
