As a division of the Office of the Associate Dean for Extension, the Office of Learning and Organizational Development (OLOD) enhances the knowledge and skills of Extension professionals and emerging leaders to better serve their communities through transformative learning experiences, organizational development, and comprehensive program planning. Through these efforts, OLOD plays a pivotal role in driving the success of UGA Extension’s educational programs and services.

To qualify for the rank of Public Service Associate candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a field closely related to Educational Programming, Adult Education, Leadership, and/or Public Administration.
To qualify as an Academic Professional candidates must hold a terminal degree in a field closely related to Educational Programming, Adult Education, Leadership, and/or Public Administration.
Position Summary:
The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) seeks a dynamic and innovative professional to provide statewide support and coordination for the University of Georgia Extension program development functions. This is a full-time Faculty appointment. The preferred home-base is in Athens, Georgia, however, there is potential to house the position at one of the district Extension offices in either Statesboro, Tifton, or Griffin Georgia. This position supports more than 1000 full-time and part-time faculty and staff members across Georgia and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Extension Program Development process and developing a robust training system for the entire organization. The position reports to the Director for the Office of Learning and Organizational Development.
A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required. Occasional evening and weekend duties are required.
Additional Requirements:
To be considered for the Public Service and Outreach Rank of Public Service Associate, candidates must meet the requirements listed in the Guidelines for Appointments and Promotion Public Service and Outreach Faculty Rank (beginning on pg. 3).
Candidates with a terminal degree may qualify for appointment in the Academic Professional Faculty Ranks as defined in the Guidelines for Appointments and Promotion. A minimum of four years of exceptional program development experience in higher education is required.
(Internal candidates must hold the rank of Public Service Associate or higher, or Academic Professional Associate. External candidates must be able to qualify for the rank of Public Service Associate or Academic Professional Associate).
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification:
A Ph.D. in a field closely related to Educational Programming, Adult Education, Leadership, and/or Public Administration is preferred.
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in program development with a minimum of four years of experience in professional development training, organizational development, and conducting research through design, implementation, and evaluation.
A minimum of four years of experience working with or in county-based Extension systems, employee coaching, and mentoring programs, as well as four years of experience in curriculum development, is highly desirable
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
Candidates should also have an appreciation and understanding of Extension programs, and understand the diverse programming offered by Extension.
Candidates should have excellent organizational skills and be able to manage multiple programs. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and public relations skills along with good oral and written communication skills.
