Position Highlights
The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Health Education and Promotion Professional II (Health Educator). This position is responsible for providing general health, alcohol, and other drug education (tobacco, marijuana, vaping, prescription, and illegal drugs, etc.), as well as mental health education, outreach, and resources to University of Arizona students. The Health Educator will deliver workshops (primarily in-person) to students in classrooms, sorority and fraternity chapters, dormitories, clubs, orientations, etc. The Health Educator will develop, implement, and evaluate engaging and innovative health promotion and risk reduction activities and programs to address the needs of the campus community.
In addition, this position will provide limited support for Campus Health immunizations and infection control, in an effort to promote health, safety, and compliance among our employees and in the clinical environment at Campus Health.The Health Educator works with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, award-winning, and innovative Health Promotion and Preventive Services team which is integrated within the Campus Health Service.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Instruct the student alcohol diversion classes (SHADE)
* Develop and deliver health education presentations (topics to include sleep & stress, alcohol, other drugs, mental health and wellness, sexual health) for students, staff, and campus community
* Work collaboratively with the Health Promotion team on print and online health media
* Work collaboratively with the Health Promotion team on a variety of health promotion and risk reduction events, programs, and activities, including the coordination and leadership of special events pertaining to nutrition, sleep, stress, sexual health, and general health/wellness
* Partner on health issues with campus and community stakeholders including Residence Life, Fraternity & Sorority Programs, Cultural Centers, Student Clubs and Organizations, etc.
* Assist in creating original, engaging, and student-focused social media content that aligns with content strategy
* Research and draft content to assist in content creation for websites
* Assist in ongoing review and maintenance of Campus Health websites
* Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees
* Availability for occasional evening and weekend outreach events and programs
* Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills including working effectively in a team environment and collaborating with a variety of partners and stakeholders
* Ability to quickly establish rapport with students to enhance learning about personal health and wellbeing
* Thorough knowledge of health education theories, research, and program assessment
* General knowledge and ability to adapt to current and emerging college age student health issues and provide evidence-based interventions
* Demonstrated skills in developing and facilitating a variety of engaging educational methods designed to improve knowledge, skills, and behaviors, including presentations, workshops, individual behavior change sessions, and small group discussion/facilitation
* Ability to adhere to an organization’s branding requirements and standards
* Knowledge of basic photography and video production principles
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
* Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate
* Desire and ability to work as a collaborative team member with students, faculty, and staff
* Ability to manage multiple projects on a variety of health topics
