Job Summary: The Training Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and conducting specialized training requirements for a college, department, or division.
Additional Department Summary: The Training Specialist co-facilitates the training for DHR new employees and others identified by DHR that have Family Service responsibilities. Maintains attendees’ records, feedback, and evaluation. Travels to alternate training sites as needed
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience; OR an Associate’s degree and three (3) years of experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be willing to travel the state and beyond and work irregular hours as needed.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills. Ability to carry out multiple tasks related to the Title IV-E activities within the Training Program. Ability to use critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to make good sound decisions. Ability to be flexible while maintaining the efficacy of the curriculum. Ability to gather and analyze data from the Child Welfare Training Program for evaluation purposes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree with training experience and some child welfare knowledge.
