Job Summary: The Director of College Student Engagement oversees a staff team within a college that develops and coordinates high-quality student engagement programs in collaboration with faculty, staff, and external partners. Oversees multiple initiatives or programs. Provides strategic direction for the college’s student leadership and engagement programs. Provides leadership in developing a path focused on students in the state of Alabama, transfer students, underrepresented students and first-generation college students. Assesses programs for improvement to support student success.
Additional Department Summary: The Director of College Student Engagement guides high school camps and college-specific visiting day events. Oversees all communication and outreach for undergraduate students.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of student recruitment, student engagement, student events, or experiential learning experience; OR master’s degree and three (3) years of student recruitment, student engagement, student events, or experiential learning experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of high impact practices, experiential learning, employer engagement, strategic planning and promotion.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree and five (5) years of student recruitment, student engagement, student events, or experiential learning experience to include some supervisory and writing and assessing student learning outcomes experience.
