What you’ll do:
The accounting manager/controller will handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities of the company. As head of the finance department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from financial statement preparation to internal controls compliance. Will report to the Director of Finance and will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.
* Support the company in all its financial reporting and analysis needs.
* Prepare and present financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheet, income statement, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
* Support monthly, quarterly, and annual balancing of books and monthly account reviews.
* Monthly review and approval of all balance sheet account reconciliations.
* Assist in the preparation of internal controls documentation, sales tax reports, and other internal and external reports as required.
* Lead accounts payables and receivables.
* Assist in the development of annual financial plans and monthly forecasts.
* Provide management with a timely review of the organization’s financial status and progress.
* Develop reporting and prepare statistical and written reports for management.
* Monitor receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated.
* Assist in direct budget preparation, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification for proposed budgets.
* Assist with the development of overhead and labor standards and standard costing.
* Review, evaluate, and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
* Verify all Sarbanes-Oxley and other compliance requirements are implemented.
* Preparation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.
* Focus and analysis on backlog reporting and impact on business.
* Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
* Assists with special projects as required.

What you need to be successful:
* Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of six years of accounting experience, primarily in manufacturing.
* Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization.
* Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods.
* Ability to work with all levels of management.
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
* Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
* Commitment to excellence and high standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred but not required.
* Excellent attendance.
* Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
* Willing to travel as needed.
