Job Description
Provides leadership and supervision for the Benefit Coordinator team responsible for communications and quality customer service regarding the University’s health insurance requirements for students and the OSU Student Health Insurance program; consults with university staff, students, parents and administrators; supports the Assistant Director in developing and delivering presentations for colleges, departments, and regional campuses related to health benefits including new student orientations and special events/programs; performs special projects as assigned related to researching and recommending enhancements to student health benefits programs, implementing new programs or benefits changes, maintains accurate training manual; attends regular benefit vendor meetings and meetings related to special assignments; coordinates with vendors to manage activities related to ongoing administration and customer service; researches information in relevant systems and resolves problem and appeal issues. This position is Administrative & Professional, unclassified, is paid monthly and in accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17 this position has been designated as a Standby position for short- and long-term closures. Minimum Education RequiredBachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired QualificationsBachelors Degree in health sciences or business administration; or equivalent education/experience required; experience with Microsoft Office products required; SIS research/reporting experience desired; previous supervisory experience desired; knowledge of health insurance enrollment and benefits systems desired; university policies and procedures desired; experience with multi-media presentation development and delivery desired; providing personal consultations, researching and analyzing benefit programs desired; strong issue resolution and communication skills and customer support focus desired.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in health sciences or business administration; or equivalent education/experience; 6 years of relevant experience; experience with Microsoft Office products; previous supervisory experience; strong verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of health insurance enrollment and benefit systems, experience with multi-media presentation development and delivery. Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check.
Desired: 8-12 years of relevant experience; SIS research/reporting experience; knowledge of health insurance enrollment and benefits systems; university policies and procedures; providing personal consultations, researching, and analyzing benefit programs; strong issue resolution and customer support focus.
Additional Information:
The starting pay range for this position is: $49,800.00 – 66,400.00.
