Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) – persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview
The Ohio State University’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member within our Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) division at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. We are seeking faculty who will teach within the Medical Laboratory Science, MS and PhD programs in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences consistent with expertise, mentor students in each program, develop and sustain an extramurally funded and productive scholarship program through publications and presentations, and contribute to service needs of the School, College, University and appropriate professional organizations. We are particularly interested in faculty with scholarly interests in immunology, Alzheimer’s Disease, aging, neuroscience, cell and gene therapy, cardiovascular, or microbiome research to complement existing strengths at the OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Required: PhD or equivalent in a related field to the medical laboratory science curriculum components (Immunology, Microbiology, Clinical chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion medicine); evidence of strong teaching ability (including distance/online); an established record or strong evidence of the ability to achieve an extramurally-funded and productive scholarship program in a discipline of medical laboratory science or related field; ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Desired: Scholarly expertise in immunology, Alzheimer’s Disease, aging, neuroscience, cell and gene therapy, cardiovascular, or microbiome.

Division of Medical Laboratory Science
The Division of Medical Laboratory Science in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is in a large, energetic academic medical center and research extensive university, offering many collaboration and innovations opportunities.
