Job Title:Laboratory Research Operations Technician
Department:Arts and Sciences | Molecular Genetics Administration
The Laboratory Research Operations Technician will work in the Cucinotta lab, which focuses epigenomic mechanisms of cell state transitions and has applications to cancer, aging, and regeneration. The Laboratory Research Operations Technician will conduct routine lab maintenance, such as ordering lab supplies, preparing culture media, plates, stock solutions, and keeping clean sterilized glassware. The Laboratory Research Operations Technician will assist in setting up the laboratory. This will entail communicating with vendors for purchasing of reagents and equipment, assisting in setting up equipment, and optimizing laboratory organization. There will be opportunities to assist in experiments involving yeast genetics, cell culture, molecular biology, and genomics.
Minimum Education Required High School diploma or GED is required.
Additional Education Desired none
Required Qualifications One year of laboratory experience. Proficient in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel. Strong skills in basic math. Proficient in handling small volumes of liquid via micropipetting, making buffers, and solutions.
Desired Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with inventory management and data entry. Skilled in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and western blotting would be competitive for this position.

The pay range for this job profile is $17.10 – 22.61. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
