The Department of Veterinary Biosciences
The Department of Veterinary Biosciences comprises 26 faculty, including 10 Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (7 certified in anatomic pathology and 3 certified in clinical pathology) and focuses on research, teaching and clinical service in anatomy, clinical and anatomic pathology, infectious diseases and cancer. The departmental philosophy is to combine research with pathology, to address questions relevant to the health of both humans and animals, and to work in an interdisciplinary manner

Job Description
• Provide premium research pathology services through the Comparative Pathology and Digital Imaging Shared Resource (CPDISR). These services will contribute to the advancement of collaborative research projects of investigators that utilize mouse and other animal models, by generating phenotypic data and using those data to help optimize experimental design and to suggest mechanistic bases for any observed changes.
• Pursue individual and collaborative research projects, and to engage in scholarly activities in oncology or related areas.
• Train the next generation of veterinary pathologists in the utilization and characterization of genetically engineered mouse models. More broad teaching roles will be in areas of comparative pathology, and will engage professional degree and graduate students, and residents in veterinary pathology.
Minimum Education Required
Doctorate (Academic) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Board certification by the ACVP is desired.
Experience in comparative pathology preferred.
