The Finger Lakes Times Looking for Circulation/Marketing Supervisor Full Time
Quick Apply Full-time 2 days ago Full Job Description Circulation/Marketing Supervisor Award-winning daily (Monday through Saturday) community newspaper in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York is seeking a Circulation/Marketing Supervisor.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per week position, primarily Monday-Friday, though some weekends may be necessary.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and creative person to be part of our management team, a leader and a self-starter who takes great pride in our newspaper and website and in providing top-notch customer service to our readers and business partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a team of drivers who deliver papers to dealers and to area post offices, occasionally filling in on a route as needed.
Communicating with our printing partners to make sure quantities are accurate, not just with the daily paper but with special sections as well, and quality is top notch; processing paperwork and mail labels that need to be sent to printers.
Build a rapport and manage relationships with area post masters and dealers.
Measure the daily paper for postal reports that are submitted daily; other reports as needed, including returns, statement of ownership, publishers statement.
Monitor voice mails on daily complaints and skips, and rectify any problems.
Retention calls to those whose subscriptions are running out reviving previous subscribers.
Devising subscription and circulation specials and other marketing efforts to sustain and grow our 125-year-old brand.
Creating, following up on and tracking sampling programs in an attempt to gain new subscribers.
Rack collections QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of professional work experience, preferably for a daily newspaper or publishing company and especially in circulation and/or marketing.
Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to communicate well with team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high volume environment.
Outstanding work ethic and ability to reach daily/monthly/annual goals.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Superior organization and time-management skills; ability to multitask.
Positive and collaborative attitude.
Ability to give great customer service.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with specific software — Interlink, Newscycle Circulation, Win SCP Postal — a real plus.
SALARY Starting range of $35,000-$40,000 annual salary, depending upon experience Job Type:
