The Children’s School at Saint John’s is a private, non-profit school founded in 1996 as a joint collaboration between Saint Joseph’s University and the Church of Saint John’s. Seventy-five children are enrolled on a daily basis in a non-denominational program. The school accepts both private paying families and families of low socioeconomic backgrounds through the childcare subsidy program.
Our Mission is based on the belief that young children need to be actively involved through play and opportunities to explore, experience, and succeed. Our curriculum is designed to foster the social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs of the children – as well as on widely accepted theories and principles of child growth and development. Our curriculum includes an integration of those components to offer a well-rounded and hands-on set of daily activities.
The Children’s School has been successful since its inception by providing high-quality care and continues to be driven by its mission today. And, as a result, the school has obtained and maintained significant achievements: Certification by the Department of Public Welfare (DPW), a Private Academic License through the Department of Education (PA), Accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Children (NAEYC), and a four-star rating from the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS Initiative.
The Children’s School at Saint John’s is looking to hire a Teacher. Candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday. The hours of employment will be 9:00 to 6:00 daily.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. Related degrees will also be considered. Experience is helpful.
