The Payment Posting Clerk is responsible for daily payment, posting and reconciliation to ensure accurate accounts receivable reporting. Duties include but are not limited to: Daily posts, corrects and applies patient and insurance payments including all bill types and corresponding contractual adjustments to patient accounts. Corrects and posts debit/credit adjustments of misapplied payments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of accounts. Reconciles posted batches to ensure balance with bank deposits.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• 2 years cash posting experience.
• Some higher education preferred, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of insurance payer adjustment policies and appropriate adjustment applications.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Must be able to communicate with patients, peers, physicians, and the general public.
• Must have telephone communication and etiquette skills.
• Must have basic computer skills, including word processing, keyboarding, and ability to learn computerized scheduling system, experience with Centricity a plus.
• Professional appearance, ability to handle multiple tasks and be a team player.
• Billing and collections experience a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $25.00 per hour
