The Admissions Specialist III is a temporary position, under general supervision, provides customer service to students, faculty, and staff through various means of communication. Offers information regarding University services and information related to admissions, academics, registration procedures, advising services, residency, transcripts, academic programs, and financial aid.
This is a temporary position anticipated to start as soon as possible and is contingent upon available funding.
Responsibilities:
Verifies admissions application data from ApplyTexas in the Banner student information system and enters data and makes corrections, as needed
Assists in collecting, updating, and processing student record information
Processes applications, transcripts, test scores and other credentials for admission from prospective undergraduate students and determines admission status
Enters transfer course data into Banner
Handles internal telephone calls and departmental email duty. Sends correspondence to applicants who email the departmental account or routes to the appropriate department
Provides in-service information/material for Admissions counselors and other staff on occasion.
Receives Admission audit reports and makes corrections, as needed
Evaluates students in an effective, accurate, and timely manner while adhering to all federal, state, system, and institution policies and procedures
Conducts presentations and informational sessions on admissions requirements and programs.
Completes special projects and performs as a team leader.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in the applicable field.
Four (4) years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
Travel required.
