As a Software Engineer 1, you will be a valued member of Applications Development & Support Services on the Human Resources Collaboration Center Team.
This position will give you the opportunity to work directly with the Human Resources to gather requirements and develop new web applications, workflows, vendor interfaces and reports which support the needs of the staff, faculty and University wide users.
This opportunity will provide exposure to developing in multiple technologies, including PL/SQL, database object creation, web development (JAVA, JSP), Workflow and Imaging.
Experience with Banner, or other ERP systems would be a plus. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related IT experience. Experience programming with languages such as PL/SQL and Java and Web Development skills, such as JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS, HTML. Experience with development tools; such as SQL Developer, GitLab, APIs, and IDEs. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
* Understanding of Oracle database design and programming; such as SQL queries and PL/SQL objects like functions, procedures, packages, triggers, views, cursors.
* Web development skills; such as JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS, HTML Principals of responsive web design, user experience, and accessibility.
* Project management skills including organize/prioritize work, manage projects from start to finish, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to elicit and document user requirements and to document completed applications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to relate to a diverse group of management and staff.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
* Familiarity with Human Resources application support/development.
* Experience with Ellucian Banner.
* Experience in Higher Ed.
This position requires a background check.
Please note this position will work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
