The IT Compliance department is responsible for the company’s daily operational compliance with and oversight of various Information Technology (“IT”) compliance programs, such as Critical Infrastructure Protection (“NERC CIP”), Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (“PCI-DSS”) and Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (“HIPAA”).

The department assists in the creation of, execution of, and oversight of specific compliance programs and controls in the areas of access control, change control, monitoring, patching, job scheduling, and backup & recovery in accordance with internal processes and procedures. Ensures compliance with Client policies and standards reviews evidence of compliance with policies and standards and provides guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Assists with the design and implementation of compliance policies and computer-based tracking systems to support compliance.

We are looking for someone with a strong foundational skill set. On-the-job training will be required. The candidate will demonstrate detailed processing and documentation skills.

1. Technical background as it relates to IT – I.E. Systems Administrator, Desktop Support, Network Administration, etc.

• Must have enough foundational knowledge in order to better understand technical conversations with IT teams.

2. Excellent Communication is required – this position is highly visible to other Departments and Teams across Tucson Electric Power’s Organization. This person will be interacting with other team members as well as leaders/management within the Client. This candidate will need to be able to work effectively at all levels of the organization.

3. Ability to Organize and Prioritize tasks effectively. (This team uses Microsoft Excel heavily)

Expected tasks may include the following or similar:

• Assist in the development and implementation of oversight processes for access controls, change control and patching.
• Maintain key lists that are required for compliance, such as key system inventory list.
• Assist in creation and maintenance of metrics.
• Assist in the completion of the annual Reliability Self-Assessment Worksheets (RSAWs) and add evidence. Build PDF portfolios with bookmarks.
• Assist the Compliance Program Management Office in preparing for, tracking and responding to audit data requests.
• Research and summarize information from regulatory agencies, such as FERC, NERC, WECC, DHS, requests from external auditors, requests from Legal or Internal Audit and distribute to team members.
• Participate in projects that the Compliance Program Management Office is coordinating based on contractor skill and experience, lead small projects.
• Execute compliance related test cases in various software applications and document results.
• Define compliance business requirements for various projects and project teams.
• Perform other duties as required.

1. Technical understanding and different types of technologies, because they deal with IT technologies, applications, servers, databases, etc.

2. General IT knoweldge. In a help desk or service desk role, seems to have a good broad knowledge of technology and attention to detail. Some of the campaigns and certifications require a lot of tracking and follow up- documentation.

3. Basic office skills, Microsoft. Knowing how to maneuvers through excel, formulas etc.

Having IT compliance experience is ideal!!!

Preferred Education and Training

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

One (1) year of combined work experience in any of the following:

1. IT Operations experience such as desktop support or system administration

2. IT security operations with emphasis on the procedural aspects of IT security practice

3. IT Compliance regulations such as SOX, CIP, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.

4. IT Auditing and auditing controls

5. Project management, especially as it may relate to electric utility regulatory compliance activities

The following is a good description of what this team mainly focuses on:

• Access control, change control, monitoring, patching, job scheduling and backup & recovery in accordance with internal process and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with client policies and standards, reviews evidence of compliance with policies and standards and provides guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
