Position Summary:
Job SummaryThe Employment Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding process for faculty and staff. Key aspects of this role include ensuring a positive experience for candidates and new hires that reflect our commitment to access, equity and belonging. This role also leads the student employment process with the goal of helping to meet the labor needs of the campus community while providing meaningful work experience for students. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations. Specific Responsibilities· Provide full-cycle applicant tracking system support to hiring managers for faculty, staff, and student positions. · Partner with the Division for Access, Equity, and Belonging to integrate inclusive practices into the recruitment and onboarding process. · Conduct reference checks, extend job offers, and maintain effective communication with candidates to ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience. · Create comprehensive written procedures for recruitment and onboarding processes, while also delivering training and developing resources to equip hiring managers with best practices in recruitment and onboarding.· Process all new hire paperwork for faculty, staff and students. Complete steps of the new-hire process including offer letters, new employee account setup, tax forms, I-9’s, organizational chart updates, etc. · Lead new employee orientation and conduct regular assessments to ensure a positive experience for new employees and their supervisors. · Lead the student employment program to ensure students have a meaningful on-campus employment experience that helps prepare them for a successful transition to life, work and a career after graduation.· Regularly assess the effectiveness of recruitment, onboarding, and student employment programs, utilizing specific metrics to enhance the experience for employees and students.· Ensure that university recruitment and hiring policies and procedures not only comply with applicable laws and regulations but also actively promote equity, access, and a sense of belonging.· Responsible for keeping accurate records, reports and other written materials related to employment and ensuring they are accurately collected and filed. · Initiate the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews, for employment separations and terminations.
Required Qualifications:
Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience OR Associate’s degree with 3 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities· Strong organizational and analytical skills to effectively manage recruitment and onboarding processes.· Ability to learn or knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.· Ability to actively promote and support diversity and inclusion in the workplace by advocating for equitable hiring practices, fostering an inclusive work environment, and championing initiatives that promote belonging.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to guide new hires and collaborate with various campus partners.· Ability to be proficient in using Applicant Tracking systems and other HR-related software.· Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate employment records.· Ability to effectively communicate the employment value proposition to a variety of audiences.· Proactive problem-solving skills to identify and implement improvements in onboarding and offboarding processes.· Ability to provide guidance to institutional campus partners with regards to internal and external candidate pools. · Ability to value and consider the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties. · Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service including active listening, customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. · Strong time management skills, with ability to set priorities.
