The Department of Public Health at SUNY Old Westbury has a core focus on the social determinants of health, and we invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in public health to begin in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will be committed to undergraduate teaching, research, college service and campus life, and be able to teach core public health courses in our CEPH (Council on Education for Public Health) accredited program. The candidate will also have the opportunity to develop new elective courses and teach existing elective courses.
We are looking for candidates who have a strong foundation in the social determinants of health and social epidemiology, and who are passionate about building community partnerships and working with undergraduate students to help cultivate health equity in Long Island and NYC. Although we are flexible with respect to area of research focus, candidates with expertise in substance use, food justice, climate justice, or program planning and evaluation, and/or methodological expertise in mixed methods are of particular interest.
