Summary/Purpose
Financial Aid Manager is responsible for all facets of the Financial Aid office including
complying with Federal and State aid guidelines in a comprehensive, consistent and effective manner.
Essential
Functions

1. Maintains a high level of professional competence in best practices in financial aid and program assessment.
2. Collaborates across departments for effective and accurate service to students.
3. Supervises Financial Aid office staff;
determines work priorities, trains, assists in professional development, delegates tasks, and evaluates work efforts, including timely
feedback and annual performance reviews.
4. Administers, controls and coordinates federal, state and institutional financial aid
funds.
5. Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations through accurate reporting (FISAP, IPEDS, MN OHE reports, etc.) and
auditing; and resolves any issues related to audit findings.
6. Manages and supervises all financial aid processes for awarding
grants and scholarships; reviews the processing and edits work performed by the financial aid staff. Resolves complex problems for office
staff, students and other parties involved in funding, awarding and/or the disbursement of funds.
7. Operationalizes and directs all
short, intermediate and long-range planning for the financial aid program.
8. Develops, implements and revises policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
9. Supervises and monitors the Financial Aid
satisfactory academic progress (SAP) process.
10. Serves as the liaison with federal, state and local agencies on issues related to
financial aid.
11. Projects and monitors expenditures, revenue and allocations for funds management in all aid programs, including
campus-based Programs: work study, grants and scholarships.
12. Develops and directs financial aid strategies that are consistent
with the enrollment management objectives of the school.
13. Attends State and National organization conferences, and reports and
implements changes to program requirements.
14. Completes weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual State and Federal reports and any
internal or external financial aid requests for information.
15. Collaborates with Director-level staff on all matters relating to
Department of Education compliance.
16. Serves as designated Data Point Administrator and Financial Aid Administrator on required
Department of Education documents such as the Program Participation Agreement.
17. Processes all student financial aid in a timely
manner to ensure that all eligible student’s aid is processed. This includes determining eligibility and completing any additional or
outside forms that students may require during the financial aid process.
18. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all
student financial aid files. Including the completion and retention of any forms that are required.
19. Monitors and stays informed
and compliant with any changes in federal, state or accrediting body requirements that affect financial aid requirements. This includes
participating in federal and state professional networks and trainings.
20. Aids in the development and implementation of the
department’s strategic plan.
21. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional school and office environment. This
constantly uses standard office equipment such as: computers (with keyboard and mouse), phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax
machines.
Physical Demands
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit
manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without
vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may
understand clearly in normal classrooms and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to waist height; and to bend, stoop,
walk and reach overhead.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position under
the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. This position may require long hours and occasional evening or weekend work.
Travel
This position
requires limited travel. Less than 10% each year.
