Continued development and execution of integrated business buying strategy for a diverse range of Ingredient Commodities achieving cost, cash, quality and service targets
Utilizes strategic sourcing methodology to develop category strategies, source, negotiate and manage suppliers to deliver total lowest cost materials and mitigate the supply risks. Intimately understands the category markets and cost drivers and develops annual budgets for BUs
Build an engaged and effective regional community by fully leveraging resources in Procurement, R&D/Q&FS, and Supply, and managing internal stakeholders. Collaborating with other Mars segments on synergies to drive optimal value to the organization
Proactively works with suppliers to ensure the delivery of continuous improvement and technology which ultimately leads to competitive advantage and working capital reduction opportunities
Leverage external capabilities to deliver supply solutions for those innovation projects that cannot be resourced internally and provide market intelligence during scoping phases of the innovation process
Develop and maintain detailed forecasts to ensure accurate buying plan and price risk management strategy
Ensure highest food quality and ensure that all suppliers are in compliance with requirements
Work together with Quality Assurance and Regulatory to ensure compliance with all requirements
What will be your key responsibilities?
Continued strategic development and execution of integrated business buying strategy for a diverse range of materials achieving cost, cash, quality and service targets. Strategically focused with strategic goals linked to critical business needs.
Rigorously applies the Strategic Sourcing Methodology in order to develop the appropriate procurement strategy and selection of key suppliers.
Lead cost reduction initiatives and continually optimize inbound supply chain and fit for purpose specifications for materials.
Analyze commodity and economic markets; accurately assess supply and demand; identify and manage market risks and opportunities; build buying plan and adjust price risk management strategy based on insights
Construct and implement buying and hedging strategies; effectively negotiate commercial terms and conditions (MSA/SOW)
Provide cyclical estimates on buying performances versus pervious cycle, OP and market updates in Commodity Buying Forum
Accountable for cash delivery from supplier payment terms and deployment of supplier financing where appropriate.
Drive continuous improvement of material quality, specification management and logistics performance of the suppliers.
Represent Procurement at various activity team meetings with timely and accurate information related to innovation
Influence the external environment for competitive advantage or for the good of the industry
Be a catalyst for innovation by being the eyes and ears of the company in seeking out new materials, new origins, new opportunities for competitive advantage
Be a role model in the business in the areas of ethics, mutuality, responsible sourcing and sustainability
Contract recommendations for Commodities are made by this position
Key supplier contract negotiations with strategic suppliers are conducted by this position in conjunction with the Global Head of Procurement and BU Procurement Heads
Authority to construct contract negotiations with non-strategic suppliers in conjunction with the spending approval process
Responsible for the Supplier Confidential Agreement negotiation, construction and implementation according to the NDA approval process
Accountable and Responsible for financial KPI ( PPV, Standard Price, Market Analysis, Budget Review)
Education & Professional Qualifications?
Bachelor degree with a focus on supply chain management, business, engineering, or operations
7 + years practical working experience in supply chain or procurement roles
5 + years of Strategic Sourcing Experience in Ingredient Commodities (Oats, Wheat and Sweeteners a plus)
Knowledge of manufacturing and operational processes
Effective relationship management – internal and external
Learn and adapt to changing market conditions and business dynamics
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
