HR Manager
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position is also responsible for providing support to our dental locations in daily HR functions.
REPORTS TO: VP of Operations and CEO
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages the new employee relationships with onboarding.
· Acts as a liaison between payroll, benefits and employees to ensure that employees are enrolled and terminated appropriately within time keeping systems, benefits carrier systems.
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
· Maintains FMLA tracking and approvals.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Directly oversees payroll and benefit vendors.
· Indirectly supervises 200 employees within multi-site dental locations.
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university and one year of experience, or four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
· Computer skills preferred: (Internet Software; Payroll Systems; Human Resource Systems; Project Management Software; Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
