Stinson LLP seeks a full-time Associate Attorney for our Washington D.C. office.
Duties Include: Conduct legal research, provide legal and logical analysis of legal theories,
gather and use data, organize facts and materials, demonstrate attention to detail, draft critical
documents and exercise excellent judgment at problem solving; Be accountable for handling
uncontested hearings on large corporate insolvency matters as well as taking primary
responsibility for certain contested consumer matters brought by customers of our large
institutional clients; Represent the client at administrative hearings including those conducted
under 11 U.S.C. * 341; Prepare proofs of claim, draft demand letters, complaints and answers,
draft and answer discovery requests, take and defend depositions, and develop an in-depth
knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and federal and local rules; Handle dispute resolution,
particularly involving the client/customer relationship; Develop an understanding of various
client’s business and consider how the bankruptcy affects or impacts that client as a creditor,
competitor, supplier, vendor, or a regulator; Provide frequent case updates to clients focusing on
the client’s concerns surrounding the particular case.
Education Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree from ABA accredited law school and an
active bar license to practice law in the District of Columbia. Excellent academic qualifications
(graduation with Cum Laude honors or greater) is required.
