Job Overview
Willow Farms EST by Steps Academy is looking for a full-time associate teacher to join their team! Willow Farms is an innovative school program for young adults with autism or related developmental differences with age ranges from 16 to 22 years of age. Our program offers unique learning opportunities for students who enjoy the outdoors and interacting with animals. Our farm setting offers a full array of educational and therapeutic benefits that are rarely found in a school program.

Share the functions of teachers and teaching faculty through collaboration with peers and supervisors to provide a positive learning and guidance techniques to students. Communicate and interact with peers and supervisors on academic progress. Maintain the programming / and educational needs of students at Steps Educational Group
Essential Accountabilities

• Proactively communicate with supervisor / team to problem solve concerns or questions
• Assure consistency among staff through observations and check-ins and communicate to supervisor of needs
• Maintain the Barn and agricultural needs of the facility.
• Supervise students in his/her care at all times
• Meet the individual needs of students by individualizing instruction and safety within the Barn environment
• Ensure the safety of students by accompanying them across learning settings during the school day or school activities as assigned
• Carry out all policies and procedures in a professional manner as outlined in STEPS policies and procedures manual
• Attend professional in-services in areas related to job responsibilities
• Ensure STEPS Educational Group confidentiality agreement for students is maintained
• Teach and act in accordance with the objectives and policies of Steps Educational Group and or as directed by your supervisor
• Product Development as it relates to farm products
• Maintain integrity of STEPS Educational Group Model

Work Environment
Position can require or involve some degree of physical interaction with students who have difficulty controlling physical behavior. Working Farm to include agricultural needs including care for animals.
Physical Demands
Must be able to use a variety of equipment for children with special needs. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment. Must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult size body weight with two-to-three person lift).

• High School Diploma/GED
• Completion of criminal background check.

• Candidate must possess strong time management skills, organizational skills
• Must be able to work on a Farm environment with a barn facility and agricultural needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,000.00 – $36,000.00 per year
