STEM Academy Associate Teacher

STEM Academy is a new early learning center located in Grandview, Missouri. We will be serving families with children ages infant to five. We are in search of a nurturing and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team of educators.

We are looking for an Assistant Teacher who loves working with children. We are looking for a teacher who loves working with children and wants to bring joy, happiness, and a fun learning environment to life!

Our Assistant Teachers are responsible for assisting the Teacher with the daily operation of an assigned classroom to meet all federal and state guidelines. This position will work in an assigned classroom and will float between classrooms as necessary.

Essential Job Duties Include:

• Have a happy demeanor and love children.
• Genuinely care about children and their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
• Be knowledgeable about state licensing requirements and understand that we will always comply.
• Be clean, neat, and a good role model for impressionable children.
• Have demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Support positive communications among the center, staff, children, and parents.
• Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.

Qualifications:

• Associates preferred
• Loving, patient, and understanding attitude with children, parents, and other staff members.
• Willingness to go above and beyond mentioned job responsibilities and duties in the interest of providing high quality care to children.
• Commitment to professional development.
• A warm and bubbly personality
• Previous childcare experience strongly preferred
• Be able to pass a background check.
• COVID vaccine required
• Be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds for children infant to five

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.50-$16.50 per hour

• Monday to Friday 9am- 6pm with a one-hour lunch break

Opening in January 2023, STEM Academy is a licensed preschool with a STEM based curriculum, an onsite library as well as a computer lab. The team of Child Care professionals at STEM Academy KC strive to provide a safe, fun learning environment promoting positive independence, physical, social-emotional, cognitive and creative development skills for each child’s educational growth.

Pay: $13.50 – $16.50 per hour
