Student Services Specialist

Position Summary: The Department of Mathematics is seeking a full-time Student Services Specialist to provide administrative support for our course offerings and degree programs. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Services, the Student Services Specialist is responsible for the following: providing administrative support for course offerings including course scheduling, enrollment, grading and evaluations, managing tutors and homework graders, and ordering textbooks and desk copies; processing requests for academic and course-related room reservations; managing the undergraduate workspace; coordinating and supporting events for current and prospective students, including Commencement; serving as a first point of contact for current and prospective students and faculty; and assisting with undergraduate and graduate degree program tasks.
This position is a key member of the Student Services team of three staff members and works directly with students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, organized, self-motivated, and a team player. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, good judgement, and the ability to prioritize work efficiently. Understanding of and adherence to policy, ability to evaluate and improve processes, and adaptability are also important for this position.
This is a 100% FTE, continuing, non-exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·Associates degree and one year of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
·Customer service skills.
·Basic office administration skills.
·Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

The expected pay range for this position is $62,000 to $76,000 per annum.
