Department Information & Job Purpose
Stanford University School of Medicine is world renowned for leading edge education, research, patient care and medical advancements. The Department of Educational Programs and Services (EPS) is seeking a Financial Analyst 1 to perform moderately complex finance functions and/or activities related to budgeting and forecasting requiring specific knowledge, skills, and broad application of policies, precedents, and systems within context of internal policies and external regulations.
The Junior Financial Analyst (Financial Analyst 1) for EPS reports to the Senior Financial Analyst and they will manage month-end close reporting, transaction approval, and accounting activities for multiple departments within EPS. The Junior Financial Analyst will reconcile monthly expenditure statements, prepare monthly projections, produce variance analysis for their customers and will help the Senior Financial Analysts in developing annual budgets.
In addition, the Junior Financial Analyst will also develop ad hoc analyses requested by the Director of Finance, Director of Finance and Administration, and the Dean’s Office. Lastly, the Junior Financial Analyst will also manage EPS’ post-award sponsored funding and serves a policy expert within the Finance team to train administrative staff across the department and maintain/update internal policy documents.
This position is eligible for full-time remote work from within the United States with periodic visits to campus, subject to operational needs. In addition, a shared touchdown workspace is available for staff who wish to work onsite occasionally.

This remote role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $67,000 to $94,740 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
