St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Print Center Associate. This position assists the Digital Arts Specialist regarding the workflow for the Digital Print Center. The Print Center Associate also processes all print orders to include: special colors and texture of paper; both black and white and color prints; special binding, folding, stapling, and finishing services. This position also helps with desktop publishing services for special orders and unique job requirements, assists with the coordination of all products and services for the self serve and departmental copier program on campus, and prepares and submits charges for services.
Specific responsibilities:
Operates equipment and production services provided by the Digital Print Center to its customers. Reviews all work produced in order to meet/exceed customers’ expectations for quality and quantity. Takes corrective measures to assure work output is meeting the needs of the customers. – 40%
Assists with production of small format copies/prints – both black & white and color, short and long runs; large format posters & banners; finishing services to include booklet making; stitching, stapling, folding and laminating; as well as producing iron-on transfers for t-shirts. – 30%
Understands and uses the Print Center Website software (XMPie) necessary to process jobs using this software. – 15%
Coordinates daily delivery service of completed jobs/proofs. – 10%
Maintains inventory and par-stock levels. Tracks and submits charges to be billed monthly. Reviews copyright infringement issues and related campus compliance. – 5%
Performs additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Works in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education –
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and Credentials –
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.
2 – 3 years experience in Quick Copy shop or Printing Industry preferred.
1 or more experience in a service industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities –
Knowledge of “Mac” and “PC” design/print applications to include Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.
Ability to interact politely and resolve customer service issues.
Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.
Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.
Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner.
Skilled at setting a good example for others.
Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and seeing them through to completion.
Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.

Working Conditions:
This position works part-time (20 hours per week), negotiable on the days and hours per day. This position is expected to work on campus on a regular basis. Weekends or evenings are generally not required and the position is not expected to travel.

Generally a sedentary position working in a professional office environment. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling no more than 50 lbs. Will need to move within the office and building with occasional meetings in other buildings on campus.
