Overview
St. John Fisher University, an independent, liberal arts institution in the Catholic tradition located in Rochester, New York, seeks applications for a tenure track position assistant professor in organic chemistry. The position will begin in Fall 2024.

The School of Arts and Sciences at St. John Fisher University serves all undergraduate students through 33 programs, the Core general education curriculum, and pre-professional requirements. The School provides all the liberal arts offerings required for baccalaureate degrees, thus providing critical skills and perspectives across a wide range of disciplines.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate courses in organic chemistry with preference given to those candidates with biochemical or physical organic experience. Exceptional teaching skills and a commitment to undergraduate student learning and success, as well as a scholarly research agenda are required. The teaching load is 12 contact hours per semester and will be in person. Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service is required for eventual promotion and tenure. The requirement for the position is a Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field.
Education / Experience
A PhD in organic chemistry or equivalent is required.

The salary range for this role is set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, qualifications, experience, and education. The above hiring range is one component of the University’s competitive Total Rewards package which can be viewed here
