St. Edward’s University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track position as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, beginning August 2023. The successful candidate will have a background in cell and molecular biology and a passion for teaching undergraduate courses in introductory biology, molecular genetics, and cell biology; additional courses may be assigned dependant on the candidate’s expertise. There are no formal academic advising or university service responsibilities associated with this position, but opportunities to become involved in the Department, the School of Natural Sciences, and the University will be available.

About the School of Natural Sciences
The School of Natural Sciences is home to six academic departments, including Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science, Kinesiology, and Mathematics. The School of Natural Sciences also houses the Wild Basin Creative Research Center, a 227-acre preserve that is open to the public and supports university teaching and research activities, and the Institute for Interdisciplinary Science, an NSF-funded center that fosters cross-sector partnerships, interdisciplinary collaborations, and training in informatics and emerging technologies. The School’s 650 majors learn in modern facilities including over 110,000 square feet of teaching and laboratory space.
