St. Edward’s University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Head Softball Coach. The head coach for softball will embrace the responsibility of building a program respected for its commitment to the mission and core values of St. Edward’s University, while representing the program in accordance with Lone Star Conference, NCAA and institutional rules and regulations. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the softball program to include: creating and communicating the vision of a program seeking to reach unprecedented levels of success, attracting and retaining a highly supportive staff for assistance with implementation of the program vision, successfully organizing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting and retention plan, supporting student-athlete success in all areas of the student experience, integrating the program into the campus community, developing a vibrant summer camp program, supervising practice and managing games, management of resources provided by the University which supports the essential components of the program and being actively involved in fundraising to enhance resources for the program.
For consideration: Baccalaureate degree is required. Master’s Degree Preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of head coaching experience or four (4) years of assistant coaching experience in a collegiate environment. Demonstrated record of promoting the academic success of student-athletes. Knowledge of and experience in recruiting. Evidence of working/relating effectively with student-athletes of diverse races and cultures. Evidence of complying fully with NCAA regulations. Possession of a valid unencumbered driver’s license and the ability to travel both locally and nationally.
