Responsibilities:
(Categorically funded position, continued employment contingent upon funding). RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the responsible administrator, develop, conduct, and promote a wide variety of technical assistance, services, and activities in accordance with program goals and objectives and local economic development efforts that require an extensive knowledge of the methods and procedures used in small business lending; analyze the needs of small businesses, prescribe a scope of work and plan of action to address those needs, and implement the scope of work and plan of action by consulting with small business owners and/or program staff providing assistance related to small business lending; perform a variety of specialized professional tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Any combination equivalent to: a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, business finance, public administration, or a related field AND Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible small business finance related experience that includes experience providing technical assistance.

Desirable Qualifications:
A Masters degree is preferred.
Salary
Range 44, Steps 1-7, $8,530.95-$10,791.20. Initial placement for external applicants is Step 1. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.
Start Date
As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval.

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Approximately) with one of those workdays being from 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., to be arranged/determined by supervisor. Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the office.Successful candidate may be assigned to any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro).
