Director of Campus Safety

OVERVIEW
The Director of Campus Safety provides strategic and operational leadership for the college’s safety and security operations and emergency preparedness at Southern Wesleyan University’s campus in Central, South Carolina. Reporting to the Executive Vice President/Chief of Staff, the Director is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and direction of the college’s safety, security, and emergency preparedness programs, and provides technical guidance, training, and inspection/risk analysis services to staff and students to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agency’s standards and regulations. This position also requires an operational awareness of best practices and national trends related to campus safety/security and legal issues impacting higher education. The position involves the management of day-to-day operations of Campus Safety.
This position is classified as regular, full-time (benefits-eligible), salaried, exempt. The projected hire date is July 1, 2023.
