The SIUE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the mission, vision and values of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. On behalf of the University, the SIUE Foundation provides coordination and implementation of fundraising efforts across campus. The Foundation receives and manages all gifts given to SIUE and upholds the highest standards of fiscal responsibility and investment management. These efforts are conducted in relation to the donors’ expressed wishes, as well as the instructional, scholarship and public service pursuits of the University.
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving (Business/Administrative Associate) will manage the Engagement Center, Leadership Annual Giving, and other daily operational responsibilities.
The Engagement Center enables SIUE to operate a multichannel engagement program which reaches alumni, parents, faculty/staff, students, and friends, consisting of the following channels: Phone (RNL Engage), Email (RNL Engage), and Text (Mongoose Cadence). Staffing within the Engagement Center consists of 20 – 30 student employees in the following roles: Engagement Center Supervisor, Engagement Ambassador, and Engagement Center Graduate Assistant Positions.
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will manage a portfolio of leadership giving level prospects. This position’s focus will be to elevate donors to the Chancellor’s Circle $2,500 cumulative annual giving level. Additional focus will be placed on the Annual Giving Major Prospects segment and other assigned prospects to upgrade donor contributions between $1,000-$10,000.
In addition, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Engagement Center will have day-to-day responsibilities including: attending Foundation Team Meetings, collaborating with the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Director of Online Giving in developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, meeting with the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Director of Online Giving consistently to ensure good communication, strategy, planning, and assist the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Director of Online Giving with any assigned tasks, special projects and/or fundraising.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
2. Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
(NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)
3. Experience with gift solicitation
4. A keen familiarity with Microsoft (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher)
5. Proven ability to meet established deadlines
6. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in an area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
(1) 2-3 years of practical experience in a Call-Center environment.
(2)1-2 years of fundraising experience with gift solicitation of $1,000+
(2) Knowledge of direct-mail fundraising, student philanthropy organizations, faculty/staff and parent programming.
(3) Ability to extrapolate and analyze data.
(4) A keen familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is preferred.
(5) Experience with Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) Engage Software and Blackbaud Raiser’s NXT software strongly preferred.
(6) Excellent verbal and written communications.
