Title: Agile Coach
Location: Onsite, Colorado Springs, 80920
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $98,000 – $115,000 annually

The Agile Coach position exists to be responsible for coaching, mentoring, enabling, and improving Agile teams through the facilitation of creativity, empowerment, and the proper alignment with and implementation of the Agile mindset and related methodologies. The Agile Coach is an advocate for cross-functional, product-aligned technology teams and is responsible for increasing collaboration and innovation while introducing techniques that promote adaptability and flexibility in the face of unpredictable circumstances.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Supports and enables technology teams responsible for the delivery of enterprise applications and integrations, web applications, native mobile applications, and the like, as a leader
• Ensures Agile and related principles, concepts and activities are embraced, being a voice of reason and making tough calls in demanding situations
• Mentors teams in the selection and execution of Agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrumban) that best support and balance a team’s work, the larger department vision, and the business’ needs
• Drives effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration, while facilitating discussion and conflict resolution within and across Agile teams
• Supports functionally organized teams as they transition into a cross-functional, product-aligned structure. Leads teams through the forming, storming, norming and performing stages of this change and beyond
• Promotes and advocates a culture of continuous improvement, helping teams set goals and milestones and be accountable for them
• Collaborates closely with technical product owners/solutions architects to ensure the creation of user stories, refinement of requirements, and prioritization of backlogs is done in a manner enabling and supporting both the technology teams and the business
• Organizes and facilitates department and team growth opportunities through activities like Agile workshops; TeamHealth Radar facilitation; celebrations and team bonding experiences; etc.
• Champions the use of metrics and other objective measures across teams. Gathers, interprets, and reports appropriate Agile metrics to effectively plan and track commitments and to provide transparency into team and department performance through a trimester Scorecard
• Contributes to the selection, implementation, and maintenance of Agile tools, and maintains related process documentation
• Collaborates with other ministry departments on interdepartmental projects to align Agile practices with other varying project management methodologies (e.g., waterfall) and processes
• Participates as part of departmental leadership
• Champions the Agile mindset and related methodologies, educating and evangelizing to garner support and acceptance throughout the ministry

Other Duties/Responsibilities

• Participates in on-going training opportunities May be on-call to provide after-hours and weekend support when necessary
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, technology, a related field, or equivalent education
• 5+ years of experience as an Agile coach, with 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master actively leading Agile teams
• 3+ years of professional experience in enterprise applications and/or consumer-facing website and mobile application development
• Holds a current Agile Coaching and/or Scrum Master certification
• Deep knowledge of and experience with Kanban and Scrumban
• Significant knowledge of and experience with Scrum and other Agile methodologies

Proven Experience In Achieving Results Through Others

• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of and experience with common development practices associated with Agile methodologies, including unit testing, continuous integration, DevOps, continuous deployment, test-driven or behavior-driven development, story mapping, etc.

Salary Range: $97,760 to $114,920/yr.
