This position serves as the Managing Editor of the Teaching and Learning in Medicine journal.
Serves as Managing Editor of the Journal and is responsible for the smooth and seamless operation of the journal from management of new manuscript submissions to preparation of accepted articles for publication, including English language editing and evaluating manuscript proofs. Management duties center on overseeing the timely and accurate processing of manuscripts from submission to publication, in coordination with the Editor in Chief, Associate Editor, Deputy Editors, Special Editors, staff reviewers, external reviewers, editorial interns, and publisher staff via publisher-managed electronic information management systems, email, synchronous online meetings, and telephone.
Editorial Writing
1) Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English, or a closely related field; AND
2) 2 years of experience writing for a newspaper, magazine, trade publication, or news organization or writing in a public relations, research or business communications environment
Condition of Employment: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
