The Senior Coordinator Meetings & Events will be a subject matter expert responsible for developing and executing top tier external customer facing events for different groups within Delta Air Lines.
This role requires established experience, a proven track record of successfully produced events from conception through completion and a strong enthusiasm to continue to drive the team to meet and exceed established goals.
The position reports to Lauren Fensham, Sr. Manager- Strategic Customer Engagement and is located in Atlanta.
Primary functions include:
Leads the planning of events that range in size from 10 to 1,500 people, including but not limited to meetings, tradeshows, experiential activations, special events and Executive programming.
Solely responsible for all facets of a program to include but not limited to logistics, VIP support, menu planning, wayfinding, event production, branding, transportation, housing, contract negotiations, registration, audio visual, event design and budget management.
Develops program specifications to include event resume, meeting logistics outline, catering outline, project timeline and budget outline. All specs to be highly detailed, organized and delivered by scheduled deadlines.
Leading of pre-planning meetings with internal project teams and external venues/DMC/vendor partners.
Removes roadblocks to success, in new and long-standing challenges, through strong relationships, effective communication, and creative solutions.
Drives innovation and seamlessness into our current processes with a focus on developing best practices for all assignments.
Contributes expertise, business knowledge and innovation across various ad hoc projects in support of flight plan initiatives.
Collaborates closely with appropriate business unit to ensure all visions, goals, budgets and strategies are seamlessly executed across the enterprise.
Leads efforts to develop and evolve customer experiences to keep Delta events the best in the industry.
Implements key learning experiences to aid in the growth and development of direct reports and the team as a whole. Develops contract negotiation strategy for team to deliver cost effective contract agreements as budgets stay flat or are reduced year over year.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
Strong time management skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently.
High energy, positive, professional attitude, pride in work product and passion for event management.
Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced at negotiating and building partnerships with vendors.
Demonstrates initiative and experience in project management is a must.
Impressive portfolio of previously managed events (VIP meetings, corporate events, large conferences, etc.).
Hours may vary and may include days, nights, weekends etc.
Travel 35% domestically required
