Discord is looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join our growing legal team. This is a high-impact role at one of the most interesting companies on the planet!   As Senior Contracts Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to provide strategic counseling, negotiate agreements, and provide contracts support for projects and plans that help our business succeed and expand across the world. You will also have the opportunity to flex your skills to creatively solve challenges that arise as we grow. You’ll get to work with some super inspiring people across various disciplines, including our Marketing, Business Development, Finance, Procurement, and People teams.   Reporting to our Managing Counsel, Commercial, you’ll be a commercial generalist who is excited to venture into some non-commercial work and open to tackling new projects. As a member of a growing part of our Legal team, you will have a significant impact on how we expand and evolve.   If this sounds like a fun challenge, please read on…   What You’ll Do: Independently draft and negotiate a variety of Business Development and Marketing deals with partners, agencies, talent, and influencers Be the Legal escalation point for the recently formed Procurement team, and negotiate agreements for inbound services that fall outside the scope of the Procurement team Review and vet Marketing campaigns and collateral and design compliant sweepstakes and contests Working with multiple partners, promote the development of playbooks, fallback matrices, and processes that ensure scale and optionality Identify and lead programs to improve Legal team processes and resources Create substantive training to internal client teams on contract negotiation and legal processes Partner with teams to resolve ways to increase efficiency and collaboration What You Should Have: 7+ combined years drafting and negotiating agreements at a well-respected law firm or in-house legal department Foundation in marketing or technology transactions, with a willingness to get creative on deal terms when that’s necessary to move forward on our team goals Curiosity and ability to jump into less familiar areas and learn while doing Ability to manage several simultaneous projects and a high volume of deals under deadline pressure Ability to facilitate collaboration at all levels of the organization.
