The General Tree Care Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the GTC Services area.
The role contributes to the success of the branch by managing through Employee Engagement(GALLUP), meeting and exceeding client expectations and achieving key performance indicators (Gross Profit, Net Promoter Score, Revenue Per Hour, Keeping Promises) while balancing safety, quality, and production.
*Essential Functions of the Role:*
* Assist with selecting, on-boarding, new hire training, employee performance evaluation, and as needed, corrective action including coaching and/or formal documentation.
* Understand and manage through Employee Engagement, as defined by GALLUP.
* Monitor, train and ensure GTC team members operate efficiently and productively on a daily basis by meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), in accordance with the Minimum Acceptable Required Standards (MARS).
* Carryout program guidelines to insure maximum customer service excellence.
* Ensure new hires are properly trained through training programs, and accompany trainees during “ride-alongs”.
* Maintain proper inventories of materials and supplies needed for daily operation of GTC services division in accordance with Lean Sigma principles.
* Monitor individual and branch productivity to ensure goals are being met on a daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal basis.
* Participate in sales activities: i.e winter season sales, customer renewals, and support arborists in closing sales and developing program recommendations.
* Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies by monitoring and enforcing all safety regulations and policies for all GTC team members.
* Assist branch location with scheduling of GTC services.
* Resolve operational problems on a daily basis.
* Hold weekly GTC meeting with team members to review production, business goals, safety, quality, customer service, provide technical training, answer questions and address issues/concerns.
* Check in with all crews at the end of the day.
* Oversee the implementation of the Self Directed Advancement Program (SDAP) for GTC team members and ensure new hires test up to their position within 60 days of hire.
* Manage fleet and equipment maintenance and repairs.
* Provide direct production support on jobs based on business needs.
*Decision Making Authority:*
* Partner with branch leadership on interviewing and selecting GTC team members and provide recommendations regarding compensation related to experience, performance and budget.
* Manage employee relations issues in partnership with Human Resources (all corrective action memos, suspensions and potential involuntary terminations must be vetted by HR prior to proceeding)
*Working Relationships: *
Internal: Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Office Manager, Field Specialists, Routing, Human Resources, Fleet Manager
External: Clients, Vendors
*Qualifications for this Role:*
* Obtain and possess current applicable certifications that are required by governing state’s laws and the SavATree SDAP levels (self development advancement program).
* Possess a driver’s license to operate motor vehicle in governing state. * At least 2-3 years of experience in supervising completion of tree care work.
* Proficient with computer systems including Microsoft office with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Complete continuing education courses and other training as assigned.
*Physical Environment: *
Field and traditional office environment.
*Physical Demands:* Must be able to sit and navigate/use computer system. The physical environment requires working both inside and outside in all weather conditions on commercial and residential properties. Activities include balance, bending, climbing, and kneeling. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment for safety. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
