Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Admissions, the International Admission Specialist will determine admission eligibility for applicants with international coursework. In addition, the incumbent will assist with domestic application reviews as needed. This position will be responsible for determining admission eligibility through records evaluation and communication with applicants and staff. The International Admission Specialist will also be responsible for handling complex admission processing duties such as reconciling fatal application errors, assisting with the processing, and evaluating of international transcripts/test scores and will determine if proof of English proficiency is required. The individual hired into this role will review admission processing reports on a daily basis to ensure applications are being processed and evaluated in a timely manner.
The International Admission Specialist must have a comprehensive knowledge of the policies and procedures as defined by Title V, the CSU Chancellor’s Office and the SDSU Graduate Council to process and route applications for review to the academic departments and Graduate Division. Ability to review unit processes and identify deviations from policies and procedures.
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Department Summary
Enrollment Services comprises Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Prospective Student Services, Out of State, Specialized and International Recruitment, and Enrollment Services Communications. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,610 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,610 – $6,556 per month.
