SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR – WINDOWS
OVERVIEW:
This position will represent Rothe Development, Inc. as the Prime contractor on the Joint Operations and Integrated Systems Technology (JOIST) Baseline B contract. JOIST Baseline B covers services and support to the Flight Operations Directorate’s information technology system as well as the Baseline B also provides support for the directorate’s planning, integration, and control services at the NASA-Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX.
Performs professional work in systems administration and computer network configuration. Possesses in-depth knowledge in desktop and server software applications. Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Requires strong problem-solving skill.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide systems administration support for FOD IT Systems including:
- Manage and maintain servers, and the associated IT infrastructure in a virtualized environment
- Install new software and perform patch upgrades to comply with NASA IT standards
- Perform upgrades to, perform preventative maintenance on hardware, and install new server hardware, and any associated IT infrastructure
- Manage and maintain access control groups (e.g. domain groups)
- Manage and oversee identity, credentialing, and access management (e.g. ActiveDirectory)
- Support hardware installations as required
- Manage access to data in accordance with NASA IT standards
- Develop and maintain system documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Experience: BA or BS/3 Year OR: High School Grad/7 Years
- Required:
- Experience with Windows server in an enterprise environment
- Preferred:
- Experience with VMWare
- Experience with storage and backup systems
- Experience with performance monitoring of servers, networks, and applications
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position is contingent on successful completion of security badging requirements which include but are not limited to background checks, drug screening, and Covid-19 vaccination mandate requirements or exemption status for federal contractors.
- Must be a US citizen
- Hours – 8AM – 5PM office environment
- Travel – Occasional
- Physical Requirements – Sitting, standing, walking, and using a keyboard
- NASA JSC onsite work environment at Buildings 4S, 4N, 30, or other
- Must sign a personal non-disclosure agreement to protect JOIST sensitive data
