Detailed Job Description
The School of Photographic Arts and Sciences invites individuals to apply for a Non-Tenure Track Visiting Lecturer position. This is a 1-year position with the possibility for renewal. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses over the academic year in the school, including courses that combine graphic design, moving media and photography. The successful candidate will be nimble, technologically savvy, and forward-thinking on the future of photography and the creative industry, and will be skilled in how graphic design, motion and photography combine.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the interdisciplinary vibrancy of the Visual Media option in the BFA in Photographic Imaging Arts, in addition to augmenting the students and curriculum within the broader School of Photographic Arts and Sciences and the College of Art and Design, in which this position is housed. THE DEPARTMENT: The School of Photographic Arts and Sciences (SPAS) is internationally recognized for its professional study of photographic practices in a wide array of related disciplines, including advertising and fine art photography, photojournalism, visual media, photographic sciences, and media technologies. THE COLLEGE: RIT’s College of Art and Design is the university’s creative hub where art, design, science, and technology intersect in our 200,000+ sq. ft. facility. We are a dynamic and professional arts and design community comprised of 1,900 students (UG and Grad), nearly 140 full-time faculty, 60 creative staff, and a number of professional part-time faculty, all of whom contribute to our Colleges ecosystem.
