Candidates will need to be capable of rising to a variety of challenges while juggling multiple components of a fast-paced environment. You will succeed in this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Located in the Atlanta, Georgia area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Your responsibilities in this role

• Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

• Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

• Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

• Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

• Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

Requirements

• Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Solid understanding of journal entries

• Great attention to detail

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• 1 year of recent and relevant accounting experience
