Description: The Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Ripon College invites applications for a
one-year Visiting Assistant Professorship. The position is open to scholars in all area studies, but we are particularly interested in
candidates with interdisciplinary research and teaching interests that include (but are not limited to): Feminisms of Color; Native American
and Indigenous feminism, gender, and sexuality; Gender and Environmental Justice; Disability Studies; Trans Studies; and/or Queer of Color
Critique. We seek candidates in the humanities or humanistic social sciences with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and
mentorship, to scholarly work, and to active and inclusive pedagogies.
Responsibilities: The position carries a
six-course teaching load over two semesters (a 3-3 load). Of those courses, we expect the successful candidate to teach 1-2 core courses
(which may include Introduction to Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; and Theory and Methodology in Women’s, Gender, and
Sexuality Studies) as well as electives in their areas of specialty. The appointment begins on August 30, 2024.
