Position Purpose
Under the supervision of the Manager of Supply Chain Contract Services, the incumbent manages projects from inception to completion, to include; value analysis, contract negotiation, contract review according to internal legal thresholds, contract management, new product review and analysis, plan, lead and coordination of trials, set up training, and in-services, presentations to clinical staff, while acting as a liaison between Renown Health and the manufacturer/vendor community, affiliating hospitals, providing contracting and other issues specific to meeting the healthcare needs of the members. Incumbent will manage Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), local, and federal 340B Drug pricing program contracts for indirect and direct services for commodities and create and manage relationships between the GPO, supply chain, and the suppliers. Incumbent manages vendor relationships within the category ensuring supply integrity and contract compliance. Identifies cost savings and/or revenue-enhancing projects/initiatives through data analysis and use of the multiple systems available to them. e.g., Spend analysis, benchmarking, etc. The incumbent develops and ensures appropriate internal and external customer communications, support, and project goals.
Nature and Scope
The major challenges in this position are to ensure the quality and timely completion of Supply Chain management projects and continuous supply chain integrity within the category to support clinical and business functions of Renown. The position serves as a quality review point for projects and new product selections to ensure that all project steps, processes, and documentation have been completed. The incumbent will work with management at all levels throughout the hospital in order to provide timely and accurate analyses and projections. This position has contact with department leaders,, directors, managers, supervisors, and staff to discuss projects, which impact their areas. The incumbent works closely with the Administrative Council members to assure coordination of tasks within the department. This position will interact directly with; Physicians, Nursing Administrators, and Staff, as well as other technical professionals within their region and throughout all of Renown Health. In addition, there will be considerable contact with the sales and support representatives of our vendor and Purchasing affiliation partners. The position requires sensitivity to customer needs within the highly technical, complex, diverse, (and often political) professional environments of a large healthcare organization. There will be other special projects assigned on an as needed basis. Other responsibilities include a working knowledge of the many systems and databases and how they relate to the analysis processes.
This position determines and obtains the best price commensurate with the highest quality and performance. Negotiates supply, equipment, and service contracts for Renown Health system-wide customers and to ensure contracts meet the needs of the customer. Researches vendor companies and seeks to negotiate the best price contracts to increase business revenue while maintaining quality standards. The incumbent is responsible for interaction and influence to arrive at an advantageous agreement between parties. As a result, the position requires the ability to understand and analyze legal documents along with excellent communication and management skills. The position requires leadership in all negotiations for projects, award contracts, and ensure successful execution. The incumbent works closely with the distributor and other Purchasing and Supply Chain staff and user departments to ensure contract compliance, improve supply utilization, and maximize system-wide contract management. Incumbent works with vendors on product issues, failures, supply shortages/fulfillment, backorders, discontinued products, and contract pricing discrepancies to ensure product and price efficiencies. The incumbent must maintain and administer agreements, ensuring contract compliance is maintained at all times. The incumbent must be able to benchmark data with a national benchmarking organization that is chosen by Renown Health. The incumbent must be proficient with contracting databases and Materials Management Information System (MMIS), and department specific systems. Must be proficient in managing and analyzing numerous Excel spreadsheets and able to report on an individual and group basis.

The incumbent performs value analysis by examining each procurement item to ascertain its benefit to the organization and patient outcomes. Determine the total acquisition cost, including associated maintenance cost and usage over its useful life to the cost of replacement and disposal.
The incumbent, working collaboratively with the Director of Supply Chain and Manager of Supply Chain Contract Services, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, implementation of cost reduction opportunities and provides the organization with an ROI. Works within a defined organizational structure to identify process improvement related to improved product, service, and process standardization.
This position will present to the appropriate value analysis committee a financial analysis of new products and supplies. This position sits on committees in various departments providing a financial analysis of the products and services presented, as well.
Decisions that must be referred to the Manager of Supply Chain Contract Services are prioritization of projects assigned, changes in procedures, the release of confidential information, and/or other issues that cannot be resolved and need to be escalated.
This position is the primary point of contact between the vendor community, the Business Owner, and the Customer Liaison. The incumbent works directly with customers and vendors to initiate, plan, execute and control projects to accomplish project objectives. Incumbent maintains a professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values.
The incumbent is responsible for keeping abreast of and applying current project management tools and techniques-related topics as needed. Under general direction, the incumbent provides guidance and assistance through training (including in-service training), coaching, problem-solving, procurement, and general staff development activities for project team members to meet project objectives.
This position does not provide patient care.

Name Description
Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree required in Business or Healthcare or year for year experience in lieu of a degree. Experience in related fields may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Minimum three years in Supply Chain, including a preferred two years experience in project management. Additional experience in a specific discipline for a Department Entity may also be required. (i.e. clinical or financial information systems, finance, insurance, human resources.)
License(s): None.
Certification(s): Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred. Additional license(s)/Certificates(s) may be preferred to support a specific department/entity.
Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; must have a typing skill level of 40 wpm. and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms, and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Must possess basic analytic knowledge in Excel including vlookup, pivot tables, histogram, spend trending, and ROI/cost analysis compilation.
